I can’t promise this will work for every application, but it’s easy to try.
I sync my iPhone with my laptop using iTunes. When a new application comes out, I typically will download them in iTunes and then sync with my iPhone.
Recently, Match.com updated their application to v1.6. They restricted some of their functionality from a previous version (v1.5). I didn’t realize this until after I upgraded my application.
This is how I downgraded back to v1.5:
1) Opened my Recycle Bin and found the old Match.com application in it (match.com.ipa). Restored the file.
2) I then opened up the path I restored to ([MyMusicPath]\iTunes\Mobile Applications) and deleted the new file (match.com 1.6.ipa).
3) Opened iTunes and right-clicked on the Match.com application. It complained about not finding the application, and let me browse to it. I selected the old one.
4) On my iPhone, I deleted the Match.com app. (press and hold the icon for a few seconds until the icons shake and then press the ‘x’ to delete it)
5) Sync my iPhone with iTunes again. It didn’t reinstall Match.com until I manually re-selected the application under the Applications Tab for my iPhone.
SUCCESS!!
Step 1 and 2 makes me want a hopslam.
ReplyDeleteGood find tho.
